Juiced
I have played the original Juiced game and I can tell you now this sequel is a LOT better. One of the unique features in Juiced 2 is, you actually get to create your own character. So if there are any need for speed fans out there wondering what that black silhouette was inside there car in juiced you’ll finally be able to see your character though the window. Who wouldn’t like that extra feature? Read the rest of this entry »
Demigod
Demigod is an attractive game with a unique art style. It’s not the standard Lord of the Rings / Dungeon & Dragons art style. The Demigods are all visually interesting and well animated. The cannon fodder soldiers are fun to watch and slay (minotaurs, angels, etc). Players have complete 360 degree control over the camera with a zoom similar to Supreme Commander, another game from the studio Gas Powered Games. Read the rest of this entry »
ATV Quad Power
The graphics on this game are actually quite interesting. They include weird “2.5″ dimensional slips with exaggerated cell shadings. This causes every course to look like a lunar eclipse is taking place. This can be very confusing and unnerving, considering you can’t even see the course! Read the rest of this entry »
Tetris Worlds
The gameplay is simple, you just control falling blocks. There are six modes. Tetris, for regular Tetris gameplay. This is where it disappointed me. Read the rest of this entry »
Vampire Chronicle
Not easy to find, this game was only released in Japan and could be obtained through Sega Direct only. Fortunately, despite the low print run, about 5.000 copies exist, the game found its way to other parts of the world. So is this a new outing? Sadly, that isn’t quite the case. Power Stone
The fighting is limited to a single attack button, whereas most of the battles consist of shooting nukes, flames, or throwing other insane stuff found in the arenas at the enemy. The meat of the game still has to do with the famous Power Stones: the first to get a hold of all three of them -six in four-player mode- will morph into a devastating creature, increasingly lowering his opponents’ chances to survive. But this is where the game severely denies what it inherited from its predecessor: not only are the environments interactive and multi-level, they’re also surprisingly large while the screen is in constant motion. The Maw
What makes The Maw special? It’s not the sickeningly sweet graphics; rather, it’s the unique gameplay that many claim gives Kirby a run for its money. In The Maw, you control a stereotypical blue alien named Frank, but the real star of the show is your purple, carnivorous sidekick: The Maw. Like Kirby, The Maw can inhale other creatures with ease. 99 Nights
First, as players wipe out enemies, the bad guys will leave behind little red orbs, which are absorbed by one’s character, slowly filling a gauge. Once this gauge is full, players will be able to unload super-powered attacks. Also, characters slowly gain experience in battle, and as they get stronger they will learn new attacks Read the rest of this entry »
Painkiller
While the game certainly doesn’t possess the most well-crafted tale as its background, it’s not the story that will entice gamers to play, and eventually enjoy the hell out of, the first-person shooter Painkiller: Hell Wars. This PC title isn’t the best looking either, but you won’t find many games with as much good-old bloody shooting action from start to finish in downright creepy locales Read the rest of this entry »
Pokemon
Gale of Darkness revolves around a bunch of Shadow Pokémon that have had “their hearts closed” and are being controlled by an evil syndicate to accomplish some dark plan and it falls to you to open their hearts by “purifying” them. If the setup reminds you of the Carebears, this should immediately alert you to the kind of saccharine, ultra kid-friendly situations and plot lines. Read the rest of this entry »
